Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization controlled by Government of India for the purpose of recruiting staff for various posts in various Ministries and reputed Departments of the Government of India and in their Subordinate Offices.
Make recruitment to Group C (non-technical) & Group B (non-gazetted- both technical & non-technical) posts in departments of Government of India, its attached & subordinate offices except those for which recruitment is made by the Railway Recruitment Boards & Industrial Establishments.
Conducting Departmental Examinations for Promotion from Group D to LDC Grade, Promotion from LDC to UDC Grade and Promotion from Stenographers Grade D to Stenographers Grade C besides holding Periodical Typewriting Tests in English & Hindi.
SSC combined graduate level exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year for the recruitment of different Central Civil posts under various reputed government organization.
SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination is an open- competitive written examination conducted for the recruitment of personnel for Grade- B and C categories posts in various Ministries, Departments and Organizations. The written test of this exam includes four tiers; Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4.
They introduced tier 3 as descriptive paper and tier 4 as DEST/CPT in the recruitment procedure and detached the Interview phase.
Now, Staff Selection Commission CGL selection procedure will be based on the following four phases: -
Tier 1 (Preliminary) - Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier 2 (Mains) - Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier 3 (Descriptive Test) - Essay / Passage / Application / Letter Writing
Tier 4 (DEST/CPT) - Computer Proficiency Test / Data Entry Skill Test / Document Verification
